Repair of Power lines
- Repair with coil
If a damage to the power line is discovered during the inspection flight, quite often it is time for take-off of our Agusta A109. Since 2004 we repair those damages in the air.
Sitting on the external platform, the mechanic repairs damaged cables by using repair coils. This procedure requires great flying skills from our experienced pilots, as they need to keep the helicopter absolutely steady for several minutes at the site to be repaired. This system is certified by the European aviation authority and approved by the institution for statutory accident insurance and prevention.
